Rock'n Reels was a little but exciting project in which the concept was mixing the old slot machines visuals with a strong rock theme, referencing bands and games that had a great historical impact, such as AC/DC, Rolling Stones, and Guitar Hero.

Working on the Project
Rock’n Reels was initially created to be a simple and cheap reskin project. However, already in the conceptualization stage, I noticed the opportunity to create a new and interesting game while keeping the scope fairly small. We bet on a strong visual concept that would mix old slot machines and general rock culture. With some insights of mine, the art team developed a strong visual that fitted perfectly with the concept.
Along with this, some small but effective mathematics changes gave the game its own personality. By using features that already existed in the company library and tweaking the reels and the paytable, the math provided an engaging experience, mainly for high-rollers.
